THE TOURIST (Henckel Von Donnersmarck, 2010) - I can kind of understand why this got such withering reviews: it’s slight to a fault, the ‘twist’ can be guessed from the trailer (though some red herrings made me doubt my conclusion along the way), and the plot is a house of cards that collapses if you just look in its general direction. Still, last night, when both BF and I were exhausted from a long day and just wanted to cuddle on the couch and look at something, it was kind of perfect. Its slightness became an asset, and well, it does have two beautiful people in glamorous clothing traipsing around in a beautiful setting, with the occasional foot chase thrown in - sometimes, that’s all you need.
