HISTOIRE(S) DU CINEMA (Godard, various) - Despite the fact that it’s not really a “movie”, and that I watched it over the course of the whole year instead of at once, it seemed fitting to achieve my goal for the year* with Godard’s HISTOIRE(S). The episodes made for a great companion piece, both giving me inspiration for what to watch and, in a way, rewarding me for my increasing background in cinema. I wouldn’t recommend watching it all at once - it’s a VERY dense text - but I think I’ll revisit it every once in a while, to see how my experience of it will change according to what I watch in between.
