THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (Lanfield, 1939) - Well, this is quite a lot better than TERROR BY NIGHT,  but it has to be said, the Sherlock movies haven’t aged quite as well as other from that time. Or maybe I was just a little bored because this is the rare Holmes story of which I remember the ending - it’s kind of a SCOOBIE DOO-type story - and they removed some of the more lurid elements, like the wife posing as a sister. Still, always good to see Rathbone with the cap & pipe, and the tracking shots over the misty moors are well-done.
